PM Chris Sutton

Chris was installed as Master on 24 October 2022, having previously served as First Warden and, for three years, as Treasurer. Since joining the Company in 2017, he has been active across a wide range of activities including Pro-Bono consulting, the development of our Centre for Management Consulting Excellence, the Wine Club, the Faith Group, and strengthening links with Bayes Business School, our military liaisons, the MCA and the IC.

He studied Classics at the University of Oxford, then started his professional career with Deloitte Haskins and Sells in the City of London where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant before transferring into Management Consultancy. As DH+S merged with Coopers and Lybrand then PW to form PwC, Chris led the finance transformation practice in the banking sector and also enjoyed an 18 month secondment to Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong.

In 2000 Chris joined Logica (now part of CGI) and rose to become Global Managing Director of Business Process Outsourcing, spending significant time in India, the Philippines, France, the Czech Republic and the Nordics. In 2016 Chris set up his own management consultancy practice and currently focuses on clients in the international development, social justice and heritage sectors. Along the way, he qualified as a Chartered Management Consultant.

As a Visiting Lecturer, Chris teaches Consulting to MSc Management students at Bayes Business School.

He holds the following voluntary appointments:

  • Trustee and Treasurer for the Heritage Alliance, the UK’s largest advocacy charity serving the independent heritage sector and representing its needs to DCMS.
  • Trustee for All We Can, the Methodist Church’s international development charity. In 2020 All We Can integrated with Y Care International and in 2021 Chris was appointed as Vice Chair of both charities.
  • Chair of the Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry Museum Trust. He led the redevelopment of the museum at Hever Castle in 2015, successfully raising £290,000 - against a previous annual income of less than £2,000. Chris served with the Royal Yeomanry as a troop leader in the late 80s to early 90s.

Chris is married to Hilary and they live in mid Kent. They have two children in their 20s. Chris looks forward to celebrating his 60th birthday midway through his Master’s year!
