Ealing Music and Film Festival 2015 - Tuesday 10th to Sunday 15th February
An unashamed marketing plug from the Mistress – Ann Chapman....
Regular newsletter readers will recall reading that last February, Elizabeth Consalvi visited the second Ealing Music and Film Festival and generously described her experience thus: ‘Talent, glamour and warm hospitality all over the place.’ and ‘In my opinion the Ealing Symphony Orchestra and its Conductor, John Gibbons, made the ROH ensemble look like amateurs!’ Enjoying a meal at one of the many Ealing eateries, she said ‘What must be the best Fish and Chip restaurant in the London environs.’ And finally ‘Can’t wait for next year!’
Well, next year is here and I want to spread the word about the Festival to you all. Five days of top-quality entertainment celebrating the great music and film heritage of suburban Ealing, created with the dual purpose of bringing locals and Londoners to Ealing’s Town Centre during deepest February, and raising money which we can put towards scholarships and outreach work with talented young Ealing performers. This year’s theme also celebrates Ealing’s long tradition of links with the Polish community. Your Master and I are two of the Festival Trust’s three trustees; we do this as volunteers and it takes up great resources of time and energy.
What have we to offer you?
A programme including classical concerts from the internationally renowned English Chamber Orchestra, the aforementioned regulars Ealing Symphony Orchestra and the Ealing Youth Orchestra - who will perform with Tasmin Little who will also be sharing her expertise in a master class with them. Then we have a choral concert by the superb Tenebrae and also a lighter choral offering from local voluntary choir Love2Sing – because they do. Follow this with a Chopin piano recital by a Polish performer or an evening performance bringing together the best of Polish and British contemporary jazz. Then there are three films and a musical improvisation to two short silent films. Truly something for all tastes.
So please visit our website at www.ealingmusicandfilmfestival.org and book some tickets. Whatever you come to, come and see the Master and me in a new light!
