The world-famous Players Theatre Club (they used to operate in The Archway next to PwC, along Villiers St, by Embankment station) are performing Trafalgar Day Celebration at the Museum of Comedy under St George’s Church, Bloomsbury Way, WC1A 2SR. On Tuesday 21st October at 5:30 (for finger buffet) and/or for The Show at 7:00pm
THE SHOW -
On October 21st 1805, the Royal Navy defeated the combined fleets of the French and Spanish navies. The Players Theatre Club offers a patriotic celebration of stirring sea songs, shanties, a hornpipe-playing accordionist, glorious singing and choruses.
The promoter of the Trafalgar event has offered WCoMC the Players' Members Price for the show, which is £23 for the show plus buffet, or £18 for the show alone.

The sixth Inter Livery Ski Championships to be held in Morzine, France on 23rd and 24th January 2015 is well on its way to being bigger and better than ever! With 41 Livery Companies participating, the competition is going to be fiercely competitive at the top end and very social at the other end. This is the only livery event held overseas and is a splendid occasion for livery companies to come together and compete together in a true Corinthian spirit. A night slalom under floodlights with vin chaud followed by a reception. The following morning a Giant Slalom is run down one of the most spectacular mountains in the French Alps. A livery dinner like no other is held in the evening.

The United Wards' Club of the City of London, founded in 1877, is one of the oldest clubs in the City and is looking to increase their membership of 300 - for both Liverymen and Freemen. Membership costs £45 per year. Events this year included dinner at Clothworkers' Hall, evening tour of St Paul's, visits to the Royal Hospital Chelsea and Horse Guards Parade. Long weekend in Yorkshire planned and visits to Highgate Cemetery, the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery and BBC Broadcasting House, plus October Founders' Day dinner at Goldsmiths Hall. December sees a trip to some Christmas markets in the Rhine Valley, Carol Service and lunch in Guildhall. In February a reception will be held for the new Lord Mayor and the Sheriffs at Saddlers' Hall, to be followed by a Club dinner.

"She made lots of trips between the fridge, stove, table and cabinets, often carrying a single item at a time" he observed. One day he told her - "You're wasting too much time. Why don't you try carrying several things at once?" "Did it save time?", his MC companion asked. "Actually, Yes", replied the Expert. "It used to take her 20 minutes to make breakfast. Now I do it in ten."
