Issue 07:  Feb 2014

A King, but not a warrior, needing to sacrifice a favourite son to the war machine, and axe-swinging lumberjacks...

Some WCoMC members were admitted to a rehearsal of King Priam and Paul Bunyan, both stunningly interpreted by the English Touring Opera. Third Warden, Noorzaman Rashid, Director of the English Touring Opera, takes us to rehearsals ...

Our Client is present in 67 countries; its clients are governments and corporations. The Project looks nice & straightforward. But... hold on...

Interesting New Book:  "The Firm:  The inside story of McKinsey, The world's most controversial management consultancy"

by Duff McDonald, 6 Feb 2014

PM Bob Garratt recommends this, as being a detailed history, including its near crash in the mid-'70s, and then the assiduous long-term network building strategy, especially through alumni and the Harvard Business School. Find this on  amazon.co.uk

PM Bob Garratt invites members to subscribe to an exciting new project.  The designer of the iconic Olympic & Paralympic Cauldron, Thomas Heatherwick, will create a permanent external pavilion at the Museum of London, to house the prototype of the work, which rose into position to symbolise the start of the Games. Each of its petals was presented at the end to each country participating.  The exhibition will create regular displays of the raising process.  You can become a founding sponsor for £1,000, £5,000 or £10,000, be recognised permanently and attend the opening ceremony in the Summer. PM Garratt is investigating whether WCoMC members might do something more modest.... Let him know at garratts@btconnect.com
