WCoMC consulting pro bono input ....

The Whitehall and Industry Group (WIG)

WIG is a charity which has been established for 30 years and organises an unrivalled range of programmes designed to help bring business, government and the voluntary sector closer together. It is independent, neutral and not-for-profit. It has built up a high calibre membership from the public, private and third sectors including top FTSE and multinational companies, central government departments, agencies, regulators , local authorities and charities. Its Board of Trustees  consists of Board members and senior officials from a number of its member organisations.

In November the WCoMC was asked to provide an independent consultant who could work with WIG's leadership team to develop a a business strategy for presentation to its Board in mid January. As part of the process, the consultant was also required to interview a sample of WIG members to obtain their views on WIG's performance and how it should be developing.

The high profile of WIG and its membership made this a consulting opportunity not to be missed and, despite being booked in to numerous lunches and parties over the Christmas period, this pro bono work was undertaken by John Corneille. Fortunately the team preparing the strategy for presentation at the Trustee Board were able to complete their work in line with the tight timetable, and the proposed strategy was signed off successfully. WIG have subsequently expressed their thanks for the contribution made by the WCoMC and, indeed, have kindly made a generous contribution to our charitable fund.
