WCoMC's Autumn Celebration and Charity Auction

This is the final event in our Master's year, which we will hold at Skinners' Hall, the historic home of the Skinners’ Company, one of the Great Twelve Livery Companies - and also our own home.

Please join us to welcome new members at the Admissions Ceremony which will start the evening. Then we will retire to the roof garden and terrace, where we will hold a drinks reception before descending to the main Hall where the main evening event will be held.

In the Hall, for the main evening celebration, we will be matching wines sourced by the Company's Wine Committee to a selection of canapés and will be accompanied by a backdrop of live music. We will also be holding an auction to raise funds to provide ongoing support for the Company’s Charitable Fund. The prizes that have been generously donated include the use of holiday apartments in Portugal, a case of exceptional Sparkling Wines from the French Loire and German Pfalz regions (reflecting the many travels of our Wine Club and Eleanor of Aquitaine!), a day's fly fishing, lunch at and a tour of Berry Bros cellars, dinner for four in Henley and many others ...

This evening will be a wonderful opportunity for members, their families and friends to gather informally after the summer break for the final event of the Company’s Livery Year. Skinners' Hall is in the heart of the City, with a history dating back to before the Great Fire when large areas of it were destroyed and rebuilt in 1670. Further areas sustained significant damage in the bombings of 1944 with some areas being restored under the direction of English Heritage, providing us with a perfect venue for this reception. Indeed, the Hall is a spectacular location for holding a reception of this nature.

This event follows directly after our Annual Service of Celebration, Dedication and Thanksgiving at St James Garlickhythe.
