Shoptalk: Perspectives on Leadership - Tuesday 29 April

An informal meeting for members and potential members to meet over a drink and hear presentations from colleagues on a theme of mutual interest.  This event is open both to Company Members and Non-Members to book.   The || Register Now || button will be visible to the right when bookings can be made.

Shoptalk: Perspectives on Leadership

This is the first in a new series of events where members share their consulting insights and experiences in an informal environment.

The theme for this first event is Leadership: something we’ve all experienced as leaders, followers, consultants and coaches, and we’ve all got opinions on what good looks like. A vibrant discussion is expected but will be prompted by the perspectives of two relatively recent members of the Company:

Linda Cairney is an organisational effectiveness specialist with substantial experience in strategic governance. She is currently serving as Naval Assistant to the first Sea Lord. Linda has extensive experience in leadership at a senior level in government, where she has provided advice to Ministers on defence strategy. She will discuss how ethical leadership is important in achieving and exceeding organisational goals.

Mark Doughty has been an OD professional for over 30 years, working with some of the world’s best-known global brands. He left KPMG last year to embark on a new career journey, researching and writing a book on 'Kindness in Leadership.' He argues that kindness has a major impact on individual, team, and organisational performance, as well as customer outcomes. His research has now spurred him on to take things further with the anticipated launch of an advisory firm called the Global Kindness Institute with the primary purpose of redefining the foundations of leadership.

Each will share their views on leadership formed by their consulting and executive careers and then we’ll discuss in plenary session before breaking for some food and refreshments. We will then have plenty of time for networking and catching up with fellow attendees.

Our venue is the The Lamb - an historic pub in Lambs Conduit Street, Bloomsbury. We will be in a private upstairs room with its own bar where attendees will be able to purchase their own drinks. Food will be provided at the interval for all attendees.

This event is targeted at members, but if you would like to bring a guest it will provide a great opportunity for them to get to know more about the Company.

Members can click on this Participant Listing link to see who has booked.

This is a cash-on-the-door event so please bring £20 to cover the venue hire and food cost. Please note that late cancellations and no-shows will also be expected to pay.

The dress code is Business Casual.
