Installation Dinner - Wednesday 20 October

Registration is closed for this event
Our annual Installation Court and Celebration Dinner launching our New Master's Year.  This event is open to Company Members and their guests.

The Installation Ceremony and Celebratory Dinner

The installation of our new Master, Wardens and Court Assistants is the highlight and start of our Livery year.  The formal ceremony is traditionally followed by a sumptuous livery dinner and good fellowship. This year will be very special as the celebration will be our first black tie event since the lifting of lockdown. It will be a great chance to catch up with friends and colleagues and to do all that networking that we've been missing for over 18 months.

We will be installing and welcoming Steve Cant as our new Master together with Chris Sutton as First Warden and Kanon Barot as Second Warden, along with three new and two returning Court Assistants. Our Installation Ceremony has its roots in the historic traditions of the Livery, but with a few "modern traditions" of our own. Steve will take the opportunity to outline his key objectives for his forthcoming year as Master.

We are delighted to announce an exceptional guest speaker for the evening: Alderman Professor Michael Mainelli, who is currently completing his second term as Aldermanic Sheriff. If you have heard Michael speak you will know that we are in for a treat. If not, be there to find out. Michael is a qualified accountant, securities professional, computer specialist and - yes - a management consultant. He was educated at Harvard University and Trinity College Dublin, and gained his PhD at the London School of Economics where he was also a Visiting Professor. We are also honoured to be admitting and welcoming Michael as an Honorary Liveryman, which will take place at a special Admissions Ceremony led by our new Master prior to dinner.

This year, for the first time, we are holding the ceremony and dinner at the splendid Saddlers' Hall, close to St Paul's Cathedral. After our recent office move to Plaisterers' Hall it all feels like a new beginning for the Company.  So please come along and be in at the start of our new Livery Year.

Whilst we are looking forward to a great evening, we also recognise that the pandemic is not yet over, so we are skipping the traditional welcome line before the pre-dinner reception and will not include a Loving Cup ceremony. However, there will be a stirrup cup after dinner has concluded for those who are able to stay a little longer. We want to ensure that the evening is as enjoyable for everyone as possible.

Please note that booking will close seven days prior to the event - so don't delay and get your booking done now. Members can click on this Participant Listing link to see who has booked.

The dress code is Black Tie.
