Christmas Collection for Charity "London Catalyst"....
...to enable small cash grants to go to the homeless and destitute...
At the Company's Christmas lunch on 17 December at Ironmongers Hall, Second Warden John Pulford MBE, collected £124 from members attending for the Hardship Fund of London Catalyst, a charity founded by a City of London Lord Mayor in 1873 -http://www.londoncatalyst.org.uk/about-us/#history
John arrived late for lunch having been with the trustees and supporters of London Catalyst who were singing carols on the steps of St Paul's Cathedral.
With our contribution, £521 was raised for this Fund which allocates cash to trusted social workers in London, who are then able to provide small cash grants to the homeless and destitute, without having to go through local authority bureaucracy.
