WCoMC Events Diary

Details of Company and City events in the near future

Please check your diaries and join some/all of the following 'less formal events' to match your interests!

ProBono Evening Workshop: 23rd October 6.00pm for 6.30pm
Cass Business School, 106 Bunhill Row, EC1Y 8TZ

Strategy Development for Charities: One of the most common reasons for charities contacting WCoMC is to ask for help in developing their strategy, either for the whole organisation or for certain services or departments.

We are therefore holding a practical workshop style event. There will not be long presentations on the theory of strategies, but rather we will focus on sharing experience with plenty of time for discussions on how to develop strategies, with learning and support from other members. We have three experienced people, Liverymen John Corneille, Bob Harris and Andrew Miskin, who will lead our discussions by sharing their extensive knowledge of developing strategies, as Charity Trustees as well as consultants across all sectors and including pro bono assignments for charities. Click through for more information.

There will be the usual payment of £25 payable on the door for the wine and finger buffet and wine break during the evening. Please either book via the WCoMC website or email Derek Miller to confirm you would like to attend.

Shop Talk Prof Network Evening: 29th October 5.30pm for 6.00pm
Little Ship Club, Bell Wharf Lane, Upper Thames St, EC4R 3TB

Liveryman Richard Stewart of Mindbench will present his ‘State of the Consulting Market – with emphasis on the UK’  as he has done regularly over recent years. There will be plenty of opportunity for networking at the bar.

The room hired has restricted space so please email David Johnson or phone him on 07932 047758 as soon as you can to confirm your attendance. Alternatively you can book via the WCoMC website.

The usual £10 will be collected to defray expenses; cash bar.

Lord Mayor's Show: 8th November from 9.30am
Parading with the Sea Cadets - march and/or support us!

Since we became a Livery Company we have participated in the Lord Mayor’s Show which is always held on the second Saturday in November following the Lord Mayor’s installation on the previous day. For the last few years we have paraded with the London Area Sea Cadets and have contributed to the cost of their float.   We will be doing this again and all members of the Company and your families are welcome to join and support us. It would be good to see if we can reach our allocated maximum of twenty Company members marching.

Click through for the full timetable from breakfast, through lunch to final relaxation at a local hostelry! Please email David Johnson or register through the website if you want to join in.

Guild of Entrepreneurs Lecture: 17th November from 6.00pm
Tallow Chandlers' Hall, 4 Dowgate Hill, London EC4R 2SH

David Peregrine-Jones has been asked to join the panel for this lecture, the first that the new Guild have organised, organised during Global Entrepreneurship Week. We have been offered a limited number of places at this event - as a special concession as this is not 'our event' - first come first served. For further information click here for their PDF flyer/booking form and we recommend you email the Clerk of the Guild of Entrepreneurs direct to check on availability of places.

Shop Talk Prof Network Evening: 27th November from 5.30pm
Thanksgiving! - Cheshire Cheese, 5 Little Essex Street, WC2R 3LD

Join in the annual social evening of the Prof Network.  All Company members welcome; why not bring an American consulting friend? £10 collected to cover food and and other expenses; any surplus will be turned into wine! Resident musician engaged. Cash bar. Will the "Electric Turkey" strut its stuff or has its batteries finally given up? All will be explained on the night or click through for a bit more information.

Please email David Johnson or register through the website if you want to join in.
