Members' Buffet Reception with Briefing on Values in Business
Wednesday 23rd July at 6.30pm

Last chance to book for our Master’s Summer Social Buffet Reception preceded by an Admission ceremony at 6.00pm. Bookings close on Thursday 17th. All will be held in the exclusive setting of the Private Dining room on the top floor of the Guildhall Building with splendid views across Guildhall Yard to the Guildhall itself and the Art Museum. The cost of the event is £28.

"The Boss of IT All" by Lars Von Trier
Soho Theatre from now until 27th July

PM Patrick McHugh's son Tom plays Nalle, a geekish employee in a thriving IT business, staffed by typical stereotypes all talking jargon, that the boss wants to sell. This play, "probably the best Danish office comedy in the world ..." (no we did not say that), is all about faked identities and explosive office politics. Why are we including this? As a 'special', because Patrick believes it should be seen by all management consultants; you should immediately recognise past client engagements!! Failing that it will indirectly support his son!!

HAC and Royal Yeomanry Concert, Guildhall Yard
Thursday 24th July from 6pm to 7pm

On Thursday 24th July the City's two Reserve Forces' Bands - the Band of the Honourable Artillery Company and the Band of the Royal Yeomanry - will perform a joint concert in Guildhall Yard. This will be the first occasion that the two bands have performed as an ensemble and a rousing finale of Tchikovsky's 1812 Overture is anticipated.

Future Events

Goldsmiths' Fair - Wednesday 24th September 2014 - 6.30pm

Our Members have been invited to an exclusive City and Livery Evening at Goldsmiths' Fair on Wednesday 24th September 2014 starting at 6.30pm until 8.30pm; wine and canapés will be served. Set in historic Goldsmiths' Hall, the Fair, now in its 30th year, showcases the finest contemporary jewellery and silver from 170 of the UKs leading artist-makers. Guests will see the most distinctive work in precious metals, can buy direct from the artists and reunite with friends from other Livery Companies. Tickets for the evening, which include a catalogue, are £20. Although the jewellery on offer is quite tempting, it may cost you a great deal more! To book please email Frances Saddington, or phone 020 7606 7010 (ext 2045). Places are limited.

The Worshipful Company of Woolmen's Annual Sheep Drive across London Bridge - Sunday 5th October 2014

The Master of the Worshipful Company of Woolmen, Richard Excell, has decreed that they will organise another Sheep Drive across London Bridge this year, following the success of last year’s event. The length of each drive will be a quarter of the length of the bridge and there will be specific photo opportunities for participants; photographs from last year’s event can be seen at www.sharpphoto.co.uk

We have a slot booked at 11am so members may participate in this very special event. If you are interested in coming along please e-mail The Clerk by 1st September so all the arrangements can be made. The level of donation has been kept at £50 per person which will cover the provision of sheep, their health and well-being; the health and safety measures required by current UK law; the traffic control measures required by Transport for London; and a personal certificate signed by the Master of The Company confirming that their rights have been exercised successfully and in accordance with current tradition.
