The New Master's Reception 2017

 
David Johnson outlines his Vision for His Year

We have now established a tradition of holding a short informal reception at which members can meet the new Master, David Johnson, and Wardens. During the reception, David outlined his vision and plans for the forthcoming year and he invited Ian Beesley, one of the early liverymen of our Company, to reflect on the value and pleasure of reviewing and recording history.

Ian is well known to many of us as he was 22 years in the Civil Service prior to being a Partner in Price Waterhouse for 16 years. He is the Official Historian of the Cabinet Secretaries and author of The Official History of the Cabinet Office.

The reception was preceded by an Admissions Ceremony, at which we welcomed three new Freemen, Ian White, Caroline Spicer and Graeme Lythe, and Clothed one Liveryman, Jim Foster. The picture gallery below reflects on the evening:
