Election of Sheriffs 2017 and Luncheon
Midsummer Common Hall
All City Liverymen admitted to the LIvery before 31st May 2016 are called to attend Common Hall to elect the two new Sheriffs for the forthcoming year. This is one of the key colourful City events which exudes centuries of tradition. The Masters, Aldermen, Corporation Officers and Lord Mayor process into Guildhall and then every Liveryman present is called upon to vote.
The two candidates for shrieval election, with links to their election addresses, are:
- Timothy Hailes JP, Alderman and International Banker
- Neil Redcliffe JP, Citizen and Basketmaker
This is also the occasion for the election of the Bridge Masters, Ale Conners and Auditors
Tradionally the Livery disperses to nearby Halls for lunch. This year we have been invited by the Master and Wardens of the Tallow Chandlers' Company to join them at Tallow Chandlers' Hall. The cost for lunch is £60.00 and members may invite guests.
Please email The Clerk for tickets for the Guildhall election (which are free).
