The Company will be holding its annual Church Service followed by a buffet supper at St James Garlickhythe on Thursday 18th September.  The church is a unique 17th century City Church, a sacred place since 1100 AD. Wren rebuilt St James in 1683 to be full of light, since when it has become known as ‘Wren’s Lantern’.  The Company is also very fortunate to have the services of Sheriff-Elect Alderman Dr Andrew Parmley MusM HonFGS to play for the service.

Goldsmiths' Fair - Wednesday 24th September 2014 - 6.30pm

Our Members have been invited to an exclusive City and Livery Evening at Goldsmiths' Fair on Wednesday 24th September 2014 starting at 6.30pm until 8.30pm; wine and canapés will be served. Set in historic Goldsmiths' Hall, the Fair, now in its 30th year, showcases the finest contemporary jewellery and silver from 170 of the UKs leading artist-makers. Guests will see the most distinctive work in precious metals, can buy direct from the artists and reunite with friends from other Livery Companies. Tickets for the evening, which include a catalogue, are £20. Although the jewellery on offer is quite tempting, it may cost you a great deal more! To book please email Frances Saddington, or phone 020 7606 7010 (ext 2045). Places are limited.

The Challenges facing Educaton and Schools - Evening Seminar
25th September 6pm at DAC Beachcroft 100 Fetter Lane EC4

This is the last of a series of successful Seminars and Panel Discussions that have explored key issues and trends facing management consultants and our clients in the education sector.  The Keynote Contributor is Derek Browne, former investment banker and international athlete now CEO of Entrepreneurs in Action, a business focussed on developing talent in schools. Derek will provide an overview of the key challenges facing education and schools from his experience of helping to encourage entrepreneurship, including the areas where management consultancy is making a significant contribution through pro bono work undertaken and apprenticeships.

The Panellists will include: Michele McKendry, Chief Executive of FutureVersity and James McCreary, former Chief Executive of Career Academies UK and Young Enterprise London.

To book your place email ben.taylor@redquadrant.com Tickets cost £25 payable at the event. Registration and networking begins at 6pm with the discussion kicking off at 6.30pm promptly. Refreshments and further networking 7.30pm - 8.30pm.

Election of Lord Mayor and Lunch - 29th September

"These are to require you to cause notice to be given to all the liverymen of your company to appear at Guildhall on Monday 29 September, next, for the election of a Lord Mayor for the year ensuing, for which purpose the Lord Mayor will take the chair at 11.45 am, precisely."

The election will be preceded by the customary service at the Guild Church of St Lawrence Jewry-next-Guildhall at 10.45am and tickets for the election may be obtained from the Clerk.

The Company has also booked a table for lunch at Stationers’ Hall at 12.30 for 1pm.  Drinks will be served before luncheon which will be 3 courses with red and white wine and a glass of port.  The cost is £60 per head inc VAT and bookings may be made through our website.  The lunch combines the best of both worlds - the Company has its own table so Members can be together but in a room with many other companies so there will be plenty of opportunites to mingle before and after the formal lunch.

The Worshipful Company of Woolmen's Annual Sheep Drive across London Bridge - Sunday 5th October 2014    SOLD OUT!

Lord Mayor's Show - Saturday 8th November

The Lord Mayor's Show has floated, rolled, trotted, marched and occasionally fought its way through 798 years of London history, surviving the black death and the blitz to arrive in the 21st century as one of the world’s best-loved pageants.

You can book a grandstand seat and rest your feet while enjoying the best possible view of the Lord Mayor’s Show. There are two stands by St Paul’s, one on each side of the processional rout, and the seats are always booked up by the end of September. Tickets cost £37.50 each, including VAT and a copy of the commemorative programme and further information and a booking form can be obtained by contacting the website www.lordmayorshow.org Tickets are usually sent out in early October but you will receive confirmation of your booking by email.
