Pro Bono Workshop
An evening with Mark Salway at
Cass Business School
106 Bunhill Row, London EC1Y 8TZ
The focus will be on the current funding situation within the Third Sector and how Social Investment can help. Social Investment – the use of investment tools in charities to create both a social and financial return – is a rapidly growing area and 'flavour of the month' in the sector.
This is the latest in our occasional series of ProBono Evening Workshops, aimed at raising knowledge, and encouraging debate, amongst members who are involved in, or interested in, undertaking ProBono work for our charity clients. Indeed, you are welcome to being guests, particularly from charities with whom you are working, or prospective Company members.
The evening will be led by Mark Salway — WCoMC Freeman and Director of Social Finance at CassCCE — tapping into his experience establishing social investment programmes with Care International, Barclays, Allianz, GSK and Unilever. “With the recent reductions in grants and the greater level of competition for funding, set against a backdrop of growing public disillusionment, how will the sector evolve to maintain its impact and the scope and scale of its work. This is where social investment may have a role to play.”
The Company has supported CassCCE in its research work on Social Investment over the past couple of years and this is your chance to:
- Learn about the debate and get a preview of Mark’s Social Investment Symposium Report
- Join the debate about how Social Investment might change the Sector’s landscape
- Discuss how we can help to build awareness of social investment via our ProBono work with Charities
As usual there will be drinks available to welcome you and a buffet and networking at the close.
Please bring £25 cash to cover the costs incurred and email Patrick Chapman, by Sunday 23rd October, to confirm you are atending and to ensure sufficient food and drink is provided!
