Professional Network
The Professional Network
and operates outside the City limits. This allows us to indulge in
activities normally frowned upon by the Livery, namely networking and
business development.
The meetings are deliberately informal and are held in upstairs
room of The Cheshire Cheese, 5, Little Essex Street, WC2 3LD just off
The Strand, starting at around 1800 hours. Those attending are invited
to contribute £10 towards the cost of the drinks with food being ordered
at the members own expense.
The first talk generally starts at around 1830 when 3 Company members
are then invited to take 5 minutes to tell the other members what it is
they actually do and to answer questions for 5 minutes. After the first
half hour there is a short pause to refill glasses and order more food.
The main speaker is then asked to speak for no more than 15 minutes on a
consultancy related topic and to answer questions for a further 15
minutes.
The evening then draws to a close when the kitty runs out and the
stalwarts retire to the bar downstairs.
The Professional Network is loosely presided over by
Past Master Ian Daniell who is ably assisted by
Liveryman Gia Campari who arranges the speakers, coordinates attendance
and keeps the records, and
Assistant David Johnson who looks after the money and coordinates
spending it at the Thanksgiving Party in November.
The Professional Network is open to all Company members and their guests
and is an ideal opportunity to introduce potential new members.
